Terms and Conditions for the Use of the Cyber Security Canada ISO 27001:2022 Badge

  1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the ISO 27001:2022 Certification Badge (hereafter referred to as “the Badge”) by certified organizations (hereafter referred to as “the User”). The Badge represents an organization’s commitment to information security best practices and compliance with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard. 1415045 Ontario Inc. O/A Cyber Security Canada (hereafter referred to as “the Certification Body”) is the accredited entity responsible for issuing the certification and authorizing the use of the Badge under these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Eligibility

Use of the Badge is strictly limited to organizations that have successfully achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification through an accredited certification body. The Badge must be used in accordance with the guidelines provided at the time of certification and these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Usage Rights

The User is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to display the Badge on digital and physical marketing materials, including but not limited to websites, business cards, and promotional content, to signify their certification status.

  1. Restrictions

The User agrees not to:

  • Alter, modify, or distort the Badge in any way.
  • Use the Badge in a manner that implies sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation beyond ISO 27001 certification.
  • Display the Badge in any misleading, defamatory, illegal, or offensive context.
  • Use the Badge on a product, product packaging, or in any manner that could be interpreted as denoting product conformity.

Badge Display Requirements

The Badge must be displayed prominently and in accordance with the display requirements provided below:

Placement and Visibility

  • The Badge should be displayed prominently on the organization’s digital platforms (e.g., website footer, certification page) and physical materials (e.g., brochures, business cards).
  • On digital platforms, the Badge must be easily visible, preferably near the organization’s logo or certification details.

Size and Proportion

  • The Badge must retain its original proportions and should not be stretched or compressed.

  • It must be large enough to remain clear and recognizable.

Color and Design

  • The Badge must be used in its original colour scheme and design.

  • No alterations to colour, design, or layout are permitted.

Linking

  • When used on digital platforms, the Badge must link back to the Cyber Security Canada website https://cybersecuritycanada.com to verify certification and for visitors to obtain more information about the standard.

Usage with Other Logos

If displayed alongside other certifications or logos, the
Badge must be of equal size and prominence.

The Badge must not be combined with other graphics to create
a new symbol.

Misuse and Compliance

The Badge must not be used in any way that suggests
endorsement or partnership beyond ISO 27001 certification.

Organizations must comply with these Terms and Conditions
and are subject to review and revocation of usage rights in case of misuse.

Updates and Changes

Organizations are responsible for updating the Badge if a
new version is released.

Any changes to Badge design or display requirements will be
communicated, and compliance is mandatory.

Compliance and Revocation

The certification body reserves the right to revoke the
User’s right to use the Badge if the User fails to comply with these Terms and
Conditions or if certification is suspended or withdrawn. Upon revocation, the
User must immediately cease all use of the Badge.

Indemnification

The User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the
certification body and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any
claims, losses, or liabilities arising from misuse of the Badge.

Disclaimer

The Badge is provided “as is” without warranties of any
kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability or
fitness for a particular purpose.

Modification of Terms

The certification body reserves the right to modify these
Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of the Badge after
modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and
construed in accordance with applicable laws of the jurisdiction where the
certification body operates.
