Marci Beitner


Master of Criminology, BSocSc Honors with Specialization in Criminology



Marci has just completed her Criminology degree with high honors from the University of Ottawa. She completed a placement in the field of criminology at the Canadian Resource Centre for Victims of Crime, where she took on the role of a victim support worker. In that role, she worked directly with victims of violent crime to provide them with advocacy, support, and resources.
Marci conducted extensive research to contribute to the agency’s newsletter, and wrote support and advocacy letters on behalf of victims.

Marci worked at the University of Ottawa, as Learning Technology Mentor, providing customized training for adaptive technologies to student’s specific needs. In her spare time, Marci volunteered at the Ottawa Mission as a soup kitchen volunteer preparing and serving meals.

In addition, she gave some of her spare time to The Bethany Hope Centre where her older sister works. There, Marci volunteered as a playroom assistant and a food-bank runner. Marci completed her Masters of Criminology Applied (MCA).
